Councilman Celebrezze was elected to his first term on Parma City Council in
November of 2005. Nick was born November 22, 1977 at Parma Community
Hospital, the youngest of three children. His mother, Daria Y. Celebrezze, a
former school teacher, grew up in Parma where her family owned a business
and were active in St. Josephat's parish. His father, Judge James P.
Celebrezze, a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga County, has been in public
service for five decades, and has had the opportunity to be elected to every
branch of government. Judge Celebrezze, a former Supreme Court Justice,
currently serves on the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Domestic Relations
Court Bench.
Public Service and Politics have been a passion of Nick's from a young age.
He has been long active in campaigning locally and at the state level for
not only his family but for other Democrats seeking office. In past
elections he has spoken on a national level for the Kerry/Edwards Campaign
in 2004, and in 2006 he actively campaigned on behalf of Ohio Secretary of
State Jennifer Brunner.
A 1996 graduate of Brecksville-Broadview Hts. High School, Nick earned his
Bachelor of Arts Degree in American Politics from the University of Akron
and his Juris Doctorate from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He was
admitted to the practice of law in the State of Ohio in May of 2004.
A former Adult Probation Officer and Assistant County Prosecutor, Nick is
currently a managing member of the law firm Calo & Celebrezze, LLC with
offices in Parma, Mayfield Hts., and Downtown Cleveland. In 2003 he was
elected by the citizens of Parma to serve as a member of the Charter
Commission. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Planning Committee,
the Vice-Chairman of the Appointment Scanning Committee, and as a Member of
the Governmental Operations, Finance, and Public Housing Committees.
